Customer Support Related to COVID-19

Updated April 8, 2020

We hope you always know how much Dedham Savings cares about our employees and our customers. Our concern includes wanting you to be in good health. For the safety of employees & customers, we have temporarily closed all banking lobbies, and ask customers to instead use a Drive-Up, an ATM, or digital banking. Locations with a Drive-Up include:

  • Dedham - 55 Elm Street
  • Norwood - 185 Central Street
  • Sharon - 45 S. Main Street
  • Walpole - 1428 Main Street
  • Westwood - 673 High Street

Please note that we have modified our Drive-Up hours to Monday-Friday 9:00-4:00 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.

We also have extra staff taking phone calls – if you need assistance, please call us at 781.329.6700. We really miss looking you in the eye, and patting you on the back and shaking your hand - but we always love talking with you over the phone and seeing you at our Drive-Up windows. It’s still us – we are still here, still grateful for you.

Rest assured that we will be available to you for your banking needs. Banks are considered an “Essential Service” and we will continue to serve you through our Drive Ups, ATMs, and Digital Banking.

We understand that, due to situations directly related to the coronavirus, some business or individual customers may find themselves facing financial difficulties. Dedham Savings is here to work with you, and we encourage impacted customers to contact us to discuss how we might be of assistance.

For Businesses:

  • The SBA (Small Business Administration) provides low-interest disaster loans to help businesses and homeowners recover from declared disasters. Visit their special website to learn about federal disaster loans for businesses, private nonprofits, homeowners, and renters.
  • The SBA also acknowledges that small businesses are facing an unprecedented economic disruption due to the COVID-19 outbreak. View additional SBA resources available under the CARES Act, which contains $376 billion in relief to American workers and small businesses.
  • The Payroll Protection Plan is an SBA loan that helps businesses keep their workforce employed during the COVID-19 crisis, by providing funds to pay up to 8 weeks of payroll costs, including benefits. Visit our special Payroll Protection Program page for information and instructions.

For Individuals:
  • As part of the economic package in the wake of COVID-19, many individuals can expect to receive an Economic Impact Payment. Payments will begin in the next several weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people. The payment will appear as a standard tax refund payment by Automated Clearing House (ACH) into the account typically used to receive tax refunds. For full details, read helpful FAQs from the IRS. We also urge customers to be wary of fraudsters at this time!
  • For customers with CDs (Certificates of Deposit) who may need emergency access to their funds prior to maturity, we are temporarily allowing penalty-free withdrawals. Contact Us to learn how.
We continue to support local community organizations through Bank donations, as well as through grants from the Dedham Savings Community Foundation. In the wake of the impact caused by COVID-19, the Dedham Savings Community Foundation has pledged $25,000 in grants to support local food pantries in communities served by the Bank.

Below are the steps we have put into place to help safeguard the health of employees and customers in our branches and offices:
  • Increasing cleaning and sanitizing regimen at all locations
  • Temporarily closing our 4 satellite offices in retirement villages
  • Temporarily closing full-service banking lobbies, but keeping Drive-Ups open
  • Increasing employee education about hand washing, social distancing, and other preventive measures shared by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
  • Avoiding large group meetings and events, and utilizing teleconferencing whenever possible
  • Allowing selected employees to work remotely and practicing social distancing
  • Requesting that ill employees stay home
Be aware that fraudsters often take advantage of events such as these.  Be vigilant if you receive something that seems out of the ordinary. Review this helpful information from the Federal Trade Commission about specific coronavirus-related scams.
