Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Dedham Village Preservation Association

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has made a grant to the Dedham Village Preservation Association. Funds will be used for extensive repairs and restoration of damage caused by winter storms at Old Village Cemetery.

The Dedham Village Preservation Association (DVPA) is a private, non-profit, organization  focusing its efforts on promoting historical standards for building preservation and new construction to maintain the rich history and charm of the Historic District. One of DVPA’s objectives includes the restoration of iron work and masonry of burial plots, including tree removal, masonry, and iron work replication and installation at the Dedham Old Village Cemetery.

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood.  Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year.
