Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Manor Neighborhood Association

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $10,000 to Manor Neighborhood Association.  This grant will be used toward building an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible playground in Dedham. The playground will serve children with special needs in the neighborhood, as well as the greater community and will incorporate natural vegetation, trees, and a boardwalk.

Manor Neighborhood Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure safer streets and homes, build community spirit and civic pride, and encourage camaraderie with neighbors and stronger relationships with law enforcement.  The Association hosts an annual Halloween block party and New Neighbor Social for all those new to the local neighborhood during the year, as well as monthly meetings with residents to provide Dedham Police and Town updates.

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings in 2000 to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
