Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Mass Insight Education & Research

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $7,500 to Mass Insight Education & Research.  This grant will be used to fund special programming aimed at supporting low-income high school students who are working to achieve Advanced Placement (AP) status.  Funding is critical to providing resources and support to this population, especially during the unique challenges presented during COVID-19, when gaps in educational equity are at risk of widening.

Mass Insight Education & Research is a Boston-based, non-profit organization that provides leadership to close achievement and opportunity gaps for underserved students, driving college and career success by focusing on system transformation and student academic success. They work intensively with over 80 high schools in Massachusetts to identify and eliminate historic barriers to AP status, including prerequisites, teacher recommendation requirements and student counseling.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings in 2000 to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
