Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports New England Center for Arts & Technology

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $5,000 to NECAT (New England Center for Arts & Technology).  The funds will support their Culinary Arts Job Training Program and help students develop the computer skills necessary to take online quizzes, join Zoom classes, submit online job applications, and conduct interviews remotely.

Funding will also be used to provide graduates with additional career services support as they work to successfully secure employment.

ABOUT NEW ENGLAND CULINARY ARTS TRAINING

NECAT empowers adults facing barriers to employment through training in culinary skills, social-emotional development and career-readiness for success and long-term financial stability. The Culinary Arts Job Training Program is designed to help low-income and homeless individuals bridge the skills gap, launch careers, and achieve long-term stability and success at no cost to them. Trainees develop the skills and confidence to secure full-time, stable employment in Boston’s diverse and wide-ranging food services industry.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings in 2000 to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
