Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports The Fairbanks House

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated to Fairbanks Family in America, Inc. (The Fairbanks House). Grant funds will be used to provide critical computer security, IT infrastructure upgrades and physical security enhancements for the historic homestead’s Secure Campus Area Network and the physical security infrastructure for the Fairbanks Museum. The project upgrades will provide protection and security to the museum’s invaluable artifacts, collection items, and one-of-a kind historic physical structures and will help to secure and maintain the integrity of digital collections and safeguard the data confidentiality.

ABOUT The fairbanks House

The Fairbanks House in Dedham, MA is the oldest known timber frame house still standing in North America. Built circa 1637 for Jonathan and Grace Fairbanks and their six children, it was home to eight generations of the Fairbanks family over the course of 268 years. The Fairbanks House is now a historic house museum and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which rovide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year.
