Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Westwood Media Center

The Westwood Media Center Logo

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $10,000 to Westwood Media Center.  These funds will be used to help offset the cost of a new studio to be used for interviews, talk shows, sports shows, music shows, a weekly news program and other community interest programs.

The Media Center promotes and enhances local television and digital media content to area residents in order to support an informed and active citizenry, increase the transparency and quality of civic decisions, deepen understanding of local issues of importance and promote civil public dialogue. Programming includes coverage of municipal meetings, school sports, and public forums, as well as providing an after-school program and special needs day trips.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings in 2000 to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
