Dedham Savings Community Foundation Awards Grant To Skating Club Of Boston

Douglas Zeghibe | Skating Club of Boston
Mia Bailey | Skating Club of Boston
Chris Teachout | Dedham Savings
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to the Skating Club of Boston. Grant funds will support the Always Champions legacy campaign, including the creation of a scholarship endowment program to honor Boston Skating Club members and coaches tragically lost in 2025. The Always Champions campaign will create lasting touch points dedicated to those lost – physical points of reflection, as well as permanent financial support for future generations who show a similar passion for skating.
- The initiative establishes two permanent annual scholarships honoring Jinna Han and Spencer Lane, enabling a wide range of skaters to continue to pursue their skating goals at the Club.
- The 1,500‑seat West Rink will be renamed the Always Champions Training Rink, accompanied by a tribute wall featuring photos, stories, and donor recognition.
- Three reflecting benches will feature permanent plaques, with bronzed skates of the four skaters and coaches placed at each bench. At the main entrance, two weeping cherry trees will flank the flagpoles, complemented by landscape lighting and memorial plaques to highlight the space year‑round.
