Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports 3Point Foundation

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to 3Point Foundation. Grant funds will be used to provide iPads to underserved youths participating in the organization’s summer Sports Leadership and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) program, presented in collaboration with UMass Boston. 3Point’s curriculum is cognitively demanding, requiring students to develop new bodies of knowledge obtained through critical analysis, research, digital technology and group work. Students are exposed to new subject matter and knowledge by asking them to solve real world problems and exposing them to real world challenges. Access to iPads will deepen the students’ learning experience, as the use of digital technology allows students to access data and information, as well as express their ideas in various media and formats.
ABOUT THE 3POINT FOUNDATION
The 3Point Foundation envisions a future in which every young person in Boston, no matter their background, neighborhood, or life circumstances, has equitable access to the support systems, educational resources, and enriching opportunities necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Central to their mission is addressing and reversing the detrimental effects of summer learning loss, a challenge that disproportionately impacts underserved communities. Rather than simply preventing regression during the summer months, the Foundation actively works to ensure that students experience measurable academic and personal growth during this period. In addition to their impactful summer programming, the 3Point Foundation offers comprehensive after-school programs throughout the academic year.
These initiatives are designed to reinforce academic concepts, foster social-emotional development, and encourage the formation of positive lifelong habits. By providing consistent, year-round support and mentorship, the 3Point Foundation significantly enhances the overall educational experience of its students, empowering them to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
