Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Artists For Humanity
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated to Artists for Humanity. The grant will be used to fund the completion of their South Boston Epicenter Conference Room upgrade project. Artists For Humanity’s Epicenter hosts over 500 teens annually, as well as thousands of visitors, in its large-capacity events venue for art making, creative production, community gatherings, and exhibitions. In its entirety, the upgrade project will include the construction of a centralized conference room, two Zoom collaboration rooms, necessary audio/visual systems, equipment, and peripherals. The new conference space will be shared free of charge with local businesses and nonprofits in need of physical space.
ABOUT ARTISTS FoR HUMANITY
Artists for Humanity (AFH) provides a safe and supportive environment where teens are employed to explore their voice and forge their unique path to success. Teens transcend economic, racial, and social divisions to transform communities through creative expression. During their time at AFH, teens share their voice in public art. Teens have the opportunity to obtain jobs and earn wages, create fine art/design, and participate in intensive mentorships, professional development and career & college readiness programs. AFH also provides a fun and productive place for teens to spend time after school.
ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which
provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year.
