Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Avery School PTO

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $6,000 to the Avery School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). This grant will be used to purchase classroom technology for students, including headphones and tablets, to ensure all students can engage in audio learning. Funds will also be used to create an indoor and outdoor sensory path for students to refocus their energy when needed.

ABOUT AVERY SCHOOL PTO

The Avery School PTO promotes the welfare of all children at home, in school and throughout the community. Their goal is to create a collaboration between administration, educators and the community to ensure students receive a balance of physical, mental and social education. They achieve these efforts through cultural enrichment, enhancing technology and creating community.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings in 2000 to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
