The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to the Dedham Village Preservation Association. Funds will be used for re-fabrication of iron work, masonry repair, and restoration of the Farrington and Whiting Plot fences at Dedham Old Village Cemetery. The renovation work will provide a safer and more expository display to one of Dedham’s most important historic resources.
ABOUT DEDHAM VILLAGE PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION
The Dedham Village Preservation Association (DVPA) is a private, non-profit, organization focusing its efforts on promoting historical standards for preservation and new construction to maintain the rich history and charm of the Historic District. One of DVPA’s objectives includes the restoration of iron work and masonry of burial plots, including tree removal, masonry, and iron work replication and installation at the Dedham Old Village Cemetery.

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, Westwood, and contiguous areas. Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations, and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
