Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Massachusetts Association for the Blind

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to Massachusetts Association for the Blind (MAB) Community Services in Canton. Grant funds will be used to develop a new Peer Empowerment Program (PEP) at the Canton Senior Center, an initiative for individuals aging into visual impairment. The PEP helps to decrease isolation and increase coping strategies for residents experiencing visual disabilities, refers participants exhibiting mental health concerns that come with adjustment to declining eyesight to peer clinicians, and educates participants about other resources that can help them live independently in the community.
