The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to Saint Francis House in Boston. Grant funds will support the purchase of Move-In Kits stocked with essential household items to help formerly unhoused individuals transition into affordable apartments. Kits will include bedding, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, and other necessities that help residents settle in comfortably and support long-term housing stability.

Saint Francis House, located in Boston, is the largest day shelter in New England, welcoming up to 500 individuals experiencing homelessness each day. Through its shelter, recovery, workforce development, and housing programs, Saint Francis House provides comprehensive, individualized support that helps guests meet immediate needs, build stability, and move toward healthier, more independent lives.

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, Westwood, and contiguous areas. Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations, and non-profit organizations.
