Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports The Allston Brighton CDC

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has provided grant funds to the Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation (ABCDC) to improve their residential services programming. ABCDC provides movement and activity-related activities to their residents of all ages. The grant will be used to improve the quality of ABCDC’s equipment, enhance the residential service’s fitness and movement activities and, through service programming, ultimately increase residents’ physical conditioning, physical and emotional well-being.    

ABOUT ALLSTON BRIGHTON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 

Founded in 1980, ABCDC leads initiatives that create and preserve affordable homes, fosters community leadership, and provides first-time homebuyers with the tools and resources to reach their goals. Through partnerships with Allston Brighton residents, their goal is to increase economic wellbeing and stabilize the neighborhood while fostering connections and community, so residents can build the lives they envision for themselves.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood.  Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year.
