The Dedham Savings Community Foundation recently made a grant to the Walpole Scout Center. Funds will be used for critical repairs of the Scout House in Walpole, including removal and refurbishment of an exterior shed and bulkhead which will stem interior flooding, and to repair interior damage to walls and a bathroom caused by flooding and water leakage over time.
ABOUT WALPOLE SCOUT CENTER & SCOUT HOUSE
The Scout House was donated by the Bird Foundation to Walpole Girl Scouts over 80 years ago and since then has been an integral part of Walpole Scouting. The Scout House hosts many different activities and events to empower young girls by providing the perfect place to hold troops meetings, overnights, fun, and educational events. The Scout House is one of the last remaining Scout Houses in Eastern Massachusetts.
