Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Sheehan School PTA
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to Sheehan School PTA in Westwood. Grant funds will support the purchase of three composting systems for the Outdoor Learning Center, each including a composter and an earth machine. Together, these systems are expected to produce enough compost annually to help the Outdoor Learning Center reduce its reliance on purchased compost each spring while supporting a more cost-effective, sustainable operation.

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to Jewish Family & Children’s Service to support improvements at its Canton Day Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Grant funds will support the installation of soundproofing measures to reduce noise, improve privacy, and create a calmer environment through acoustical wall panels, door treatments, and ceiling tiles in key program areas. These upgrades will better support participants with sensory sensitivities while enhancing comfort, confidentiality, and program quality for clients and staff.
Dedham Savings Community Foundation SUPPORTS South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to the South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation (SBNDC). Funds will be used to support the replacement of deteriorating porches on an affordable housing property serving low-income residents at 9–13 Woodward Street in Boston. This renovation will help address urgent safety concerns at the property, where the existing porches have significantly degraded over time and will not pass inspection. With this grant, the Dedham Savings Community Foundation is helping ensure the structures meet current safety codes and continue to provide safe, functional outdoor space for the residents who call this housing property home.
